I’m a seasoned generalist.

For 20+ years, I’ve worked across legal specialties.

It’s given me a unique, solution-focused perspective.

As a transactional attorney, I have a different approach and temperament than a litigator.

My two goals:
(1) get the deal done (on the best terms possible), and
(2) keep you out of litigation.

I negotiate fairly, but firmly. I don’t “fight” – instead, I work hard to get the deal done on the best terms for you. I’ve seen deals fall apart because a lawyer wants to score points and fight over every tiny issue. (Btw, this also raises costs for everybody.)

I give you my best advice about where we should push hard and where we can give – and then work with the other side to finalize the deal. To be clear, sometimes an issue is important enough (in my opinion) to be a deal-killer – and if the other side won’t move, I’ll give you my analysis and let you make the business decision.

I draft understandable documents. Easy to understand = easy to follow.

When the parties can find and understand their respective obligations, they can perform as agreed. Fulfilled obligations = no disputes and no litigation.
